If the next vehicle you’re searching for is one with space for the entire family, you might be considering a minivan. The 2018 Kia Sedona is a model that offers a comfortable interior, outstanding safety features, and tech that all passengers will enjoy.
Kia of Des Moines is proud to offer the Sedona to drivers in Urbandale and Clive. We’ve put together a full review of this minivan to explain everything it has to offer and to help you get a feel for what it’s like to be behind the wheel.
Kia Sedona Interior Features
The Sedona adapts to your specific needs on every drive. There’s seating for seven across three rows, with space for up to eight when the available removable second-row center seat exists. The third-row seats can be folded down into the floor for more cargo space. The second-row seats, meanwhile, feature Slide-N-Stow® design, where they can be slid forward and locked in place to make room for longer cargo items.
The available 12-way power-adjustable driver’s seat can be configured to your liking so every drive is comfortable, and the 8-way power-adjustable front passenger seat provides added convenience. The center console provides plenty of space, with enough room for a tablet and 12-volt outlet for charging if your electronic devices are coming along for the ride.
Kia Sedona Safety
Safety is something to think about when considering a car for the whole family. The Kia Sedona comes through, having received a 5-Star Overall Safety Rating from the NHTSA. The base trim of the 2018 Sedona is equipped with a rearview camera, so you can see exactly what’s happening around the vehicle when backing up in the driveway or pulling out of a parking spot.
The suite of available driver-assistive technologies, known as Kia Drive Wise, is a big help, too. The features are designed to keep you aware and alert of what’s going on. This technology includes the Lane Departure Warning System, which will alert you with audible and visual warnings if the car is detected to be moving too far from the lane it’s currently in. The Forward Collision Warning System will activate when an object may be blocking the road, encouraging you to brake as soon as possible.
Equipped with Bluetooth® technology, the Kia Sedona makes it easy for those making hands-free phone calls or wanting to play music from a smartphone. The available UVO infotainment system takes things to a new level: stream music, check on your driving habits, or enjoy Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ capability.
With this technology, simply connect your smartphone with a USB cable, and you’ll have the ability to receive text messages, make phone calls, or navigate to your destination. Supported apps will be displayed on the touchscreen.
